Routes that are ideal for 3 to 4 days cruising, or for a very leisurely paced 1 week cruise if you would like more time to explore the surroundings and attractions around the canal on foot, or would just like a few days in the countryside to relax away from it all.
Barbridge
The Middlewich Arm of the Shropshire Union Canal covers 10 miles from Middlewich to Barbridge. Taking in some breathtaking scenery with idyllic mooring locations that have the advantage of views of lovely countryside in every direction. Coupled with some amazing pubs and restaurants to stop at it is a true gem of the waterways. The Barbridge Inn at Barbridge, and The Badger in Church Minshull are two of our favourites pubs to visit and we are sure you will enjoy them as well.
Anderton Boat Lift
The Anderton Boat Lift is considered one of the wonders of the waterways and a true piece of Victorian Engineering Ingenuity. The lift takes boats from the Trent and Mersey Canal and elevates or descends (depending on your direction of travel) around 50 feet. The Anderton Boat Lift was restored in 2000 and has been operating continuously since and still does to this day. You can transit the boat lift with a boat when you hire from us and experience the magic for yourself!
Chester

1 & 2 Week Voyages
These routes offer a variety of relaxed and very active 1 week voyages, or are a more leisurely route to opt for if you are able to spend a little extra time and complete the route within 10 days to 14 days. There are many other options if you are looking to get away for more than 2 weeks which we will be happy to help you plan if you are interested in a bespoke route when booking with us. Just let us know what you would like to see and do and we will compile an individual itinerary for you.
Four Counties Ring
The Four Counties Ring has something for all tastes; a scenic canal route traversing Staffordshire, Cheshire, Shropshire, and the West Midlands.
